Overview

Users can attach multiple sensors and sensor types to their ego vehicle in varying positions.

Parallel Domain supports the following sensor types:

  • Camera
  • LiDAR
  • Radar

Extrinsics

Each sensor type is defined in terms of its translation and rotation relative to the center point of the bottom face of the ego vehicle. The sensor is simulated as if it is attached to the ego vehicle and follows its dynamic body movements.

There are no restrictions on the location or orientation of a sensor relative to the ego vehicle, so they can be mounted at any distance from the ego and even facing towards the vehicle to provide a bird's-eye-view of the surrounding environment.
